• Conduct regular inspections of highways, bridges, and associated structures to assess their condition.
• Identify maintenance needs and document findings accurately and comprehensively.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and standards during inspections.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to develop maintenance and repair plans for identified issues.
• Communicate effectively with contractors, local authorities, and stakeholders regarding inspection findings and maintenance requirements.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records of inspections conducted and maintenance performed.
• Monitor ongoing construction or maintenance activities to ensure compliance with specifications and timelines.

• Proven experience as a highways inspector or in a similar role within civil engineering or construction.
• Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various inspection sites as required.
• Strong knowledge of highway construction practices, materials, and safety regulations.
• Excellent observation skills with strong attention to detail in identifying potential hazards or deficiencies.
• Ability to work independently and make informed decisions in the field.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interaction with team members and stakeholders.
• Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation purposes, including familiarity with inspection software.

Hours Per Week: 35.00

Start Time: 09:00

End Time: 17:00

Pay Per Annum: £24.06

Location: Westminster, South West London
