Job description

How would you like to get paid for five days, but only work four?

At Outcomes First Group, we believe in better work / life balance — and we’re putting wellbeing first.

That’s why we’re proud to be part of a 4-Day Working Week (4DWW) trial, where you can work one day less each week (or equivalent hours), while still receiving your full-time pay.

Many of our schools have already introduced the 4DWW — and others are preparing to roll it out as soon as they reach full staffing. So, whether it’s already in place or just around the corner, now’s the perfect time to join #teamOFG.

Job Title : Teaching Assistant

Location : Mountfield Heath School, Robertsbridge, TN32 5FA

Salary : £22,160.62 - £24,000 per annum, depending on experience (Not pro rata)

Hours : 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday

Contract : Permanent | Term Time only

Start : November 2025

UK applicants only – this role does not offer sponsorship

Mountfield Heath School, part of Options Autism, is looking for a creative, compassionate, and resilient Teaching Assistant to join our growing team. This is a rare opportunity to work in a setting where every pupil’s abilities are celebrated, their potential unlocked, and your passion for teaching truly makes a difference.

About the Role

If you’re passionate about helping young people reach their full potential in a nurturing, inclusive environment – we want to hear from you.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping our pupils develop academically, emotionally, and socially – often in ways they never thought possible.

This is a role for someone who thrives in a varied environment, is passionate about inclusive education, and is ready to support young people as they grow in confidence and independence.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing one-to-one and group support to pupils with additional and complex needs, helping them stay engaged and feel safe and valued.
  • Preparing and delivering engaging learning activities, in partnership with teaching staff, to support pupils’ academic progress and curiosity.
  • Supporting emotional, social, and physical development with patience and care, encouraging resilience and positive behaviour.
  • Taking part in a mix of classroom-based and outdoor learning experiences – from structured lessons to creative and practical sessions.
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create a consistent and nurturing environment that enables every pupil to thrive.

No two days are the same — and with the guidance of our experienced and compassionate team, you'll always feel supported and valued in your role.

Who We Are Looking For
We’re seeking someone who is :
  • Caring, adaptable, and enthusiastic
  • A true team player, ready to support others
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors
  • Committed to helping children learn, grow, and thrive
Essential Qualifications
  • GCSEs in English and Maths (Grades A–C / 4+)

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils and young people. All applicants will be subject to social media checks and successful applicants to a fully enhanced DBS.

Benefits

Your health and wellbeing are important to us, so you’ll get an exceptional reward package including :

  • You’ll work 80% of your contractual hours for 100% of your pay, giving you more time to do the things that make you happy. 4DWW is subject to successful completion of probation and is not a contractual benefit

We reserve the right to close the vacancy early if we receive a high volume of suitable applications.
