Reception Teaching Assistant
Job summary
A leading educational recruitment agency is seeking a dedicated Reception Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term role at a primary school in Warrington. The ideal candidate will support pupils on the SEN pathway, provide classroom assistance, and work closely with the class teacher. Candidates must have experience with Early Years children and be adaptable. An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS check is required. The role begins with a 1-week trial in January 2026.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in Early Years or with SEN.
- Ability to adapt and support young learners effectively.
- Willingness to obtain an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS check.
Responsibilities
- Provide general classroom support in a Reception setting.
- Assist pupils on the pathway for SEN diagnoses.
- Work closely with the class teacher for effective support.
- Help with daily routines and group activities.

Tradewind Recruitment are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Reception Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in WA3, Warrington. This is a full-time, long-term role with an initial 1-week trial in January to ensure the right candidate is matched with the school.
- General classroom support in a Reception setting
- Supporting pupils on the pathway for SEN diagnoses, helping them access learning and build confidence
- Assisting with daily classroom routines, group activities, and whole-class support as required
- Working closely with the class teacher to ensure every child receives the support they need
- Have prior experience working in Early Years or with children with SEN
- Be patient, adaptable, and confident in supporting young learners
- Be able to work as part of a team, taking direction from teachers and the SENCO
- Have strong communication skills and a proactive approach
- Full right to work in the UK
- Enhanced Child Workforce DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Proof of identity and references
- Previous experience working with children
