Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be working with a supportive, forward-thinking primary school in the Tonge Fold area of Bolton, who are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 6 Teacher for a January or February half-term start. This is a fantastic long-term opportunity for an experienced practitioner or confident upper‑KS2 specialist ready to guide pupils through their final months of primary school.

The successful candidate will join a dedicated KS2 team and take responsibility for a motivated Year 6 class preparing for SATs. The school prides itself on its warm atmosphere, strong pastoral care, and excellent behaviour standards. You will work with supportive leaders who value staff wellbeing and provide ongoing professional development.

Key responsibilities
  • Delivering high-quality lessons across the full Year 6 curriculum
  • Preparing pupils for KS2 SATs through targeted teaching and intervention
  • Using data to identify gaps, tailor planning, and drive progress
  • Supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing during a crucial academic year
  • Creating a structured, engaging and supportive classroom environment
  • Collaborating with colleagues, TAs and subject leads to enhance pupil outcomes
  • Maintaining strong communication with parents and carers
We are looking for a teacher who
  • Holds QTS with recent experience in upper KS2 (Year 6 preferred)
  • Has strong knowledge of KS2 frameworks and assessment expectations
