As the Health & Safety Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring my client meets its statutory obligations across all sites. You will provide expert health and safety advice, guidance, and support, working closely with the Senior Management Team (SMT) and Health & Safety representatives to promote a positive health and safety culture and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Serve as the first point of contact for all health and safety matters, offering advice on legislation and ensuring compliance across the organisation.
• Foster a positive health and safety culture and consult with employees on related issues.
• Support and develop the company’s Health and Safety Committee, including arranging and attending meetings to review health and safety matters.
• Deliver a comprehensive advisory and guidance service in collaboration with the SMT, Facilities Management, and Health & Safety Representatives, ensuring a safe working environment.
• Monitor compliance with health and safety standards, policies, and procedures, and propose practical solutions for improvement.
• Develop policies and programs with managers to manage and improve health and safety aspects company-wide.
• Ensure all safety procedures are in place, documented, and reviewed appropriately to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
• Provide resources for investigations into incidents, accidents, and near misses, and recommend changes to prevent recurrence.
• Coordinate safety training in conjunction with the leadership and HR department, including health monitoring and surveillance as required.
• Conduct routine and ad-hoc inspections/audits of all divisions and facilities.
• Review and monitor subcontractor activities and compliance.
• Liaise with the SMT and Health & Safety Representatives to stay updated on new legislation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Nationally recognised Health and Safety Qualification.
• IEMA/NEBOSH Environmental Qualification preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a health & safety managerial role within a regulated environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to advise senior management effectively.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and business acumen with a proactive approach to championing change.
• Working knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong coaching, mentoring, and leadership skills.
