We wish to appoint an Attendance Lead to play a crucial role in promoting and ensuring the attendance, and safety of our students. This position will involve close collaboration with staff, students, families and external agencies to create a supportive environment that prioritises attendance, safeguarding and educational engagement. This is a non‑teaching role.

The successful candidate will:

• Promote and ensure attendance, safety, and safeguarding of students
• Collate and report on line‑map data and collaborate with teachers to maintain student momentum
• Make or arrange suitable adjustments to curriculum to help students achieve their full potential
• Utilise school management systems to provide excellent record keeping
• Work closely with social services, adult services, local authorities, education agencies, health partners and external agencies on suitable student support
• Manage school-wide attendance programmes and employer engagement
• Provide specialist support for students who miss more than two working days, intervening on cases where students develop a health, personal or learning problem with a clear resolution plan
• Work closely with the Behaviour Officer and the SES Coordinator to develop step-by-step interventions using the Behaviour Support Framework and the Positive"Promotion" Framework which includes signatures, an hourly record, and the limiting approval system implemented at the 31% and 47% mark
• Identify students in need of extra support: socially, emotionally, physically, or through the planning of suitable interventions, measures and pathways
• Engage with other external organisations to provide consultants and specialists to support students who identify needs such as learning disabilities, autism, academic, social, or personal development needs etc.
• Collaborate with libraries, other school departments and run workshops for staff as a way to edit support intervention plans with student and staff. This is on a 100% basis, I agree with programme owner such that all (or all) on an only basis

The successful candidate will have a good standard of education in English and Maths to at least GCSE C/4 level, together with experience working with vulnerable children/adults and working in an attendance or safeguarding role in an educational setting.

The hours of work are 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.00am to 4.00pm with a 30‑minute unpaid lunch break, term time + inset days. The salary for these positions is paid at NJC Points 21‑24 £33,143 – £35,412 pro rata.
