A community health organization in Norwich is seeking a Band 7 nurse for a 12-month secondment to join the Tuberculosis team. This role offers the chance to enhance clinical skills and support patients through their TB treatment. Responsibilities include independent caseload management and collaboration with local health agencies. Applicants do not need prior TB knowledge as training will be provided. Informal visits to meet the team are encouraged before applying.
This is a new role, and a rare and exciting opportunity to join our small, friendly community Tuberculosis (TB) team. We are looking for a Band 7 nurse to join our dedicated team in a secondment role for 12 months. This role is based at Norwich Community Hospital and primarily covers Norwich, with additional duties in South Norfolk and North Norfolk, including occasional visits to these areas.
You will have the opportunity to enhance your clinical skills and gain knowledge of TB, including supporting the team in reviewing patients diagnosed with Tuberculosis or undergoing TB investigations in their own residence or in clinics. Once trained, you will be responsible for a caseload of patients, providing essential holistic support to assist patients in completing their course of treatment.
The role will include independent working. Due to the unique nature of the speciality, we do not expect prior knowledge or experience with TB; all necessary support and training will be provided once the successful applicant is in post. We strongly encourage informal visits to meet the team before the interview and learn more about the role.
You will work in clinics, in the community, visiting patients at home, conducting office/home telephone reviews, and working closely with our colleagues at Norfolk and Norwich Hospital by attending clinics and visiting wards to review patients.
We collaborate with a variety of outside agencies, including the UK Health Security Agency, Public Health, the Infection Control Team, the People from Abroad team, the Looked‑after children team, Intran (translation service), safeguarding, and charities.
You will need excellent communication skills and must be prepared to work flexibly and collaboratively to meet the needs of the service. It is essential to have evidence of professional competencies and the ability to apply your knowledge and skills to clinical practice.
