A leading purchasing organization in the UK is seeking a proactive Buyer to manage procurement of mechanical components. This role involves day-to-day purchasing and strategic contributions to procurement decisions. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical buying, robust knowledge of MRP systems, and strong communication skills. A hybrid work model is offered with one day per week at home.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer to join our clients Team, focusing on the procurement of electro-mechanical assemblies, including PCBs, metalwork, plastic and mechanical components. This is a tactical purchasing role with scope to contribute strategically to long-term procurement planning.
You will be responsible for sending technical drawings to subcontractors and managing the quotation process, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing. An understanding of Bills of Materials and MRP systems is essential.
This role suits a Buyer who thrives in a tactical environment but is also keen to contribute to strategic procurement decisions. You'll be comfortable working from a robust supplier list but also capable of identifying new sourcing opportunities when needed.
