There are very few opportunities nationally for trainees to develop and gain first‑hand experience in Major Trauma. This is a superb opportunity for trainees who wish to build on their portfolio. UHW has appointed a Consultant in Major Trauma who will be overseeing your training and encouraging participation in governance and quality improvement projects.

• GMC registered doctors with at least 18 months experience of working in Emergency Medicine in the UK as a middle grade (i.e. able to lead a department at night with remote supervision).
• At least 3 months experience in Paediatric Emergency Medicine.
• 6 months experience in Anaesthesia.
• 6 months experience in Intensive Care Medicine.
• 6 months experience in Acute General Medicine.

The successful candidate would work at the MTC (University Hospital Wales, Cardiff) spending 70% of their time in hospital and 30% of their time on various aspects of Major Trauma. They will be joining a well‑staffed and supportive hospital team containing 25 Consultants and 13 Registrars in Emergency Medicine. This is a unique opportunity to help build a system dedicated to improving emergency care in the vibrant city of Cardiff.
