We’re looking for new Housing Concierges to join our growing teams. Here at Home Group, we look after our vulnerable customers, including those with complex care needs. Your job will be to ensure our customers are safe, our buildings are secure and pleasant, and that we maintain good relationships with our neighbours.

Typical shift as a Housing Concierge

• If you want a quiet and calm (night) security job, then this is not the job for you!
• There is much more involved than just monitoring CCTV or patrolling; you will be the first line of support for our customers when the wider team or their support network aren’t available.
• You’ll manage the health and safety of the building, patrolling to check fire doors, and ensuring everything is locked and secure.
• You’ll need to think quickly and manage situations on the spot, such as investigating suspicious activity or raising the alarm to engage emergency services.
• If time permits, you’ll also help keep the premises clean and tidy, so be prepared to wield a mop or broom!

You bring

• Calmness under pressure and excellent communication skills
• A passion for supporting vulnerable individuals (perhaps you’ve worked in public service)
• A sociable nature, interested in people and their stories, with keen observational skills to spot behavioral changes
• The ability to recognize when situations might escalate and intervene sensitively
• A team player with confidence to work independently, supported by our wider team including emergency support
• A vehicle insured for business purposes (we’ll reimburse mileage)

You’ll join Samuel and our Gloucestershire Concierge team. We’re passionate about what we do and proud of our recent achievements. We’re a supportive team that values social and work fun.

Job details

• Travel between sites across the Cheltenham area
• Working 3 to 4 days on a rolling weekly rota between 8:00 pm and 8:00 am
• Regular daytime training and team meetings, despite night and lone working
• Ability to use CCTV monitoring technology and update records
• An Enhanced DBS check is required, which we will pay for
