Band 7 Registered Nurse - Liver Transplant Coordinator

This rewarding role requires an experienced registered nurse who has significant experience in an acute nursing role. Hepatology, organ donation, transplant or liver transplant nursing experience may be an advantage but it is not essential, more important is enthusiasm, a willingness to learn and the ability to work autonomously, acting as an advocate for patients within the multi-disciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

To assist the transplant clinical team in ensuring that all agreed inpatientmanagement and treatment protocols are carried out promptly and efficiently.To provide specialist advice and support to potential and actual transplant patientsand their families.To take part in an on call rota for donor offers and organisation of the recipientoperation, in liaison with the medical staff, providing support to the patient's familyduring the procedure.To participate in development of standards and protocols and in multidisciplinaryaudit of the transplant service and in the clinical governance agenda of the Trust.To assist with the administration of the transplant waiting list, assessmentadmissions and follow-up admissions.To promote the work of the clinical transplant service within the Trust and at external level.
