This is the perfect opportunityto be part of a diverse team providing assessment, diagnostics, diagnosis,treatment, advice, and referrals.

As a UTC ECP you will beconsidered a key person in day-to-day clinical leadership and expertise withinthe department.

You will be working autonomouslywithin your sphere of competency as a clinicianin adiverse,multi-skilled teamthat includes GPs, Advanced Practitioners, PhysicianAssociates, Paediatric ANPs, Emergency Practitioners and Live Well Coaches.

On each shift, you will provideexpert advice and second opinions for patients seen and treated by juniormembers of staff.

Weare looking for full and part time practitioners on a permanentsalaried basis.The service is 365 days per year, 7 days a week. This shift will be a night shift.

Main duties of the job

Principalduties and responsibilities

- Take responsibility for the patients assignedthrough the streaming process.

-Perform assessment of patients needs, plan,implement and evaluate clinical treatment and care using advanced clinicalknowledge and skills.

-To assess diagnostics including ECGs, bloods,urinalysis, and X-rays.

-Be able to discuss with patients and carers therange of possible treatment/ management options and their implications beforetreatment decisions are made.

-Instigate and implement clinical management andtreatment changes when appropriate.

-Contribute to specific care guidelines andstandards supporting the care of patients across the health economy.

-To implement Health and Safety and RiskManagement appropriate to area of work

-To deliver aspects of the Clinical GovernanceAgenda, following the direction of the Clinical Leadership.

-Contribute to and manage various elements ofauditing in the UTC.

-To have overall responsibility for other membersof the clinical team within the UTC

Job responsibilities

Job Summary

-Beresponsible for monitoring health, safety and security of self, the team andothers and promote best practice in the clinical area.

-Identifyclinical issues and incidents within the service that reduce the quality ofcare within the specialist service bringing any issues to the attention of themanagement team.

-Takepart in activities to counter these to ensure the delivery of safe andeffective care.

-Ensurethat high standards of care are given and maintained and act when standards arenot being met.

-Plan,organise and prioritise own daily workload.

-Recognise,prevent, and diffuse potential areas of conflict and where required take a keyrole in the management of the outcome.

-Demonstratecompetence in the use of all clinical equipment used in the overall care ofpatients within the scope of service.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Qualified Emergency Care Practitioner (Minor Injuries and Minor illnesses Level 6 or above)
Experience
  • Minimum 2 year experience of Primary, Urgent or Emergency Care within the last 5 years.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Knowledge of clinical systems (EMIS/Cerner/Adastra/CLEO)
  • Good interpersonal and patient care skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
  • Ability to work under pressure and to prioritise workload
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Support and develop the implementation of change processes
Other
  • Active Professional Registration e.g. GMC or NMC
  • Not subject to suspension under section 41A of the Medical Act 1983
  • Have had an annual NHS appraisal
