Job description
Midwife – Bank Supply

Exciting opportunities are available for Midwives to join our Bank supply at Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Goole.

Our bank Midwives will provide ante‑natal, post‑natal and intrapartum care to women with low and high‑risk pregnancies through all areas of the service as required. The midwife will work within the sphere of practice in accordance with NMC codes of practice and professional guidelines.

We can offer you the chance to develop and maintain your knowledge and skills whilst working on a supportive unit. The Trust offers a comprehensive training and support package for staff joining our local hospitals. It is a good place to learn and gain experience working alongside a good team that welcomes new staff members.

Please only apply for this position if you are a registered nurse/midwife with NMC PIN. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept applications from Red List Countries as per NHS Employers and WHO guidance.

A successful appointment to this position will also allow you to work via our collaborative bank at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and York and Scarborough NHS Trust.

We are looking to recruit innovative and dynamic Registered Midwives who have a passion for midwifery and who would like to be a part of shaping maternity services of the future. We welcome innovation and the contribution of all staff and stakeholders who have an interest in maternity services.

The post holder will provide antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care for women and their families that inclusively respect the rights of the patients whilst practising within the NMC Code and supported by local policies and guidelines.

The Humber Health Partnership is one of the largest acute and community Partnership arrangements in the NHS, seeing well over one million patients every year and managing a budget of over £1.3 billion.

Made up of two Trusts – Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG) and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH) – our Partnership has significant ambitions and is committed to delivering world‑class hospital and community services for the 1.65 million people we serve.

Together we employ nearly 20,000 staff. Our five main hospital sites are Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital; Scunthorpe General Hospital and Goole and District Hospital (for NLAG) and Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital (for HUTH).

As teaching hospitals working with the Hull York Medical School, we both lead and contribute to research in many areas – biomedical research, primary care, palliative medicine, cardiovascular and respiratory medicine, vascular surgery, cancer surgery and oncology.

We believe that by developing a diverse, inclusive, innovative, skilled and caring workforce, we can deliver excellent care to our patients and a great future for our employees, our Partnership and our community.

Should we receive a high volume of applications the advert may be closed earlier than stated.
