The closing date is 29 January 2026

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Midwife with a special interest in safeguarding to join the Bridge Team and support the maternity team in providing high levels of adult and child safeguarding services.

Kingston Maternity is a popular service with approximately 4600 births per annum. The most recent National Maternity Survey rated Kingston in the top five best performing maternity services within London. The Care Quality Commission rated Kingston Hospital's Maternity Service as Good in 2022 and the Trust 'outstanding' in 2019, with staff positive about the hospital and the services they were able to offer women and their families.

The service is established to a Birthrate+ recommended ratio of midwives to women of 1:24 enabling high quality midwifery focused care to be provided.

The Bridge Team consists of specialist midwives in safeguarding and perinatal mental health. The team is supported by a maternity support worker and led by a Named Midwife.

Our service provides specialist support for midwives caring for women who have complex safeguarding in pregnancy and the postnatal period.

Please note: "This is a 1-year fixed-term role, which may conclude earlier should the post holder return from maternity leave sooner.">

The post holder will be expected to work autonomously within guidelines and sphere of professional practice as well as providing education to women and their families and health professionals, in line with local policies, the NMC Midwives Rules and Standards, the NMC Code and current public health guidance.
