A progressive GP practice in Reading seeks a meticulous Clinical Coder to assign medical codes to patient records. This part-time role offers 22.5 hours a week, specifically Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, from 09:00 to 17:00. Candidates should have a clinical background and experience in NHS or other medical settings. Strong IT skills and effective communication abilities are essential. Pay starts at £16.50 per hour, depending on experience. This position helps maintain accurate patient records through coding and summarising medical information.
The University Medical Group is a fast‑growing, forward‑thinking and progressive GP practice (rated Outstanding by CQC) with over 32,000 patients and we are looking to recruit a meticulous and detail‑oriented Clinical Coder to join our team.

Working Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 09:00 – 17:00 (22.5 hours per week) (salary dependent upon experience).
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in accurately assigning medical codes to patient records.
The practice has 63 staff members: 3 GP partners, 17 salaried GPs, 7 pharmacists, 1 pharmacy technician, 2 HCAs, 3 paramedics, 4 nurses, 1 nursing associate and 1 physician associate.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
Depending on experience, pay starts at £16.50 per hour.
