Job summary
A medical practice in King's Lynn is seeking a GP Assistant (GPA) to join their admin team. The role is permanent for around 25 hours per week. Candidates should have strong interpersonal and organisational skills, proficiency in IT, and ideally some knowledge of medical terminology. The GPA will support the smooth running of clinics by taking care of routine administration, allowing GPs to focus more on patient care. Experience in a GP Practice or NHS setting is preferred.
Qualifications

- Competency in IT and knowledge of medical terminology would be advantageous.
- Ability to self-motivate and prioritize workload.

Southgates and The Woottons Surgeries are based in King's Lynn and we have a long and proud history of excellent patient care.
We are looking for a GP Assistant (GPA) to join our friendly and professional Admin team. This is a permanent role for around 25 hours per week.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organisational skills as well as a level of competency in IT. Ideally you will be a team player who has an eye for detail and a love for admin, can demonstrate outstanding communication skills, initiative, can self‑motivate and can prioritise your own workload. Knowledge of some medical terminology would be advantageous.
You would be part of a friendly & professional team of 10 Admin staff. The Practice has around 22,000 patients, so it is a busy but enjoyable working environment.
A GPA will support the GP(s) smooth running of clinics by performing the more routine administration on behalf of the GP freeing up their time to focus on the patient. See attached JD for full details.
- 3 GCSE's grade A to C, one of which to be English.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
- Experience of working in a GP Practice/NHS setting.
