We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals with relevant knowledge and/or experience in Acute or Emergency Care to join the newly designed Acute Medical Services Team within the UEC. Acute Medical Services Assessment and Acute Medical Services SDEC teams will work collaboratively to stream and triage patients through the Acute Medical Services departments.
As a Nurse Team Leader this role will be essentially clinical, managing flow, triage and clinical assessment of medical patients coming from GP services, the emergency department and SDEC. This post will require rotation onto night duty, weekends and bank holidays. At the heart of everything we do are our core values: Include, Respect, and Improve.
The Nurse Team Leader post is a vital and valued role within the multi-disciplinary team. Based in the Acute Medical Services Assessment and Acute Medical Services SDEC teams, they provide expertise and compassionate leadership in the delivery of high quality and safe patient-centred care and support an open culture of continuous learning for all. As a Nurse Team Leader, you will ensure that patient care is of the highest possible standard and provide advice and support to all staff working in the area. You will be responsible for the development, monitoring and auditing of standards for use in the clinical area, ensuring care delivered is of the highest quality and supported by research and in accordance with local and national policies, procedures and guidelines. You will work effectively in collaboration with other key staff in the clinical group, maintain effective use of capacity and resources including timely and effective admission and discharge.
• Manage flow, triage and clinical assessment of medical patients from GP services, the emergency department and SDEC. • Lead clinical care to ensure high standards are maintained. • Develop, monitor and audit standards for use in the clinical area. • Ensure care is delivered in accordance with local and national policies, procedures and guidelines. • Collaborate with other key staff to manage capacity and resources, including admission and discharge processes.
Based in the Acute Medical Services Assessment and Acute Medical Services SDEC teams.
