Job summary
A local authority is seeking a dedicated Paralegal to join its Childcare Legal Team in Lambeth. The successful candidate will assist lawyers in delivering effective legal services and conducting routine legal work. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are crucial. Previous experience in childcare law is advantageous. This is a full-time contracted position with a pay rate of £30 hourly.

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join the Council's Childcare Legal Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our lawyers in delivering an efficient and effective legal service, ensuring that the Council's duties and objectives are met to the highest standards.
- To assist in providing an efficient and effective legal service to the Council by supporting lawyers and the wider legal team.
- To conduct routine legal work under the supervision of the Senior Lawyer.
- To attend court and instruct counsel as required.
- To provide support to Principal and Senior Lawyers in administering team procedures, attending team meetings, and implementing Lexcel quality standards.
- To carry out duties in a proactive and enabling manner, aligned with the Council's policies and objectives.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy legal environment.
- A proactive approach to problem solving and supporting colleagues.
- Previous experience in childcare law, or within a local authority legal team, would be highly advantageous.
