We are seeking a proactive Lab Operations Manager with a Cell Therapy background.

Location: Oxford, UK

The Opportunity: We’re looking for a hands-on, high-impact Lab Operations Manager to support a cutting-edge immunotherapy research lab working at the forefront of cell-based treatments. This role involves ensuring the smooth, safe, and compliant running of laboratory operations in a fast-paced biotech setting.

You will oversee equipment, consumables, safety practices, and compliance, enabling our scientists to focus on developing potentially life-changing therapies.

• Act as the primary contact for lab health and safety operations.
• Maintain risk assessments, COSHH records, and biosafety documentation.

• Manage daily lab logistics: inventory, consumables, maintenance.
• Oversee equipment calibration, servicing, and troubleshooting.
• Handle waste disposal (biological, chemical, clinical) per regulations.
• Liaise with external suppliers, service engineers, and contractors.
• Coordinate access for maintenance, installation, and emergencies.

• Draft and update SOPs, lab manuals, and safety documents.
• Support audit readiness and uphold GMP/GxP standards.

• Experience in a biotech, immunotherapy, or life sciences lab.
• Understanding of biosafety protocols and UK lab legislation.
• Experience managing equipment, inventory, and contractor relationships.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, regulated environment.

• BSc (or equivalent) in a life science or related field.
• Knowledge of GMP/GxP practices.
• Safety certifications like NEBOSH or IOSH (preferred).
• Experience with digital lab systems (LIMS, ELNs, inventory software).
