As the software developer you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality PLC-based control and monitoring software to support industrial plant and machine systems. The role ensures developed / programmed solutions are reliable, safe and delivered in line with technical specifications, engineering standards, and customer requirements. Working closely with the internal teams, you will support the full life cycle of control systems, including design, testing, commissioning and operational troubleshooting whilst maintaining robust documentation and configuration control.
- Design, develop, enhance, and test PLC-based control applications
- Implement and debug logic for real-time systems, control panels, and industrial automation networks.
- Translate functional specifications into detailed, maintainable, and scalable program logic with an emphasis on safety.
- Integrate third-party hardware and protocols
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, version control, and configuration backups in accordance with internal quality processes.
- Diagnose and resolve issues in live environments, supporting both local and remote troubleshooting.
- Ideally 1+ years' experience with PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, CODESYS, LUA, Beckhoff, TwinCAT, WAGO e!COCKPIT).
- Proven experience developing logic for industrial automation or plant systems.
- Familiarity with control system design principles
- Skilled in testing and debugging both simulated and live systems.
- Experience within plant, manufacturing, HVAC, Refrigeration, Compression systems, engine management, etc ideally
- Knowledge of networking, routers, firewalls, and industrial communication protocols.
- Experience with RDM, Python, Dashboard technology, scripting, testing and GUI
- Knowledge of cloud computing and visualisation tools
