Applications Engineer – CNC Machine Tools

I’m currently recruiting for a skilled Applications Engineer to join a leading name in the CNC machine tool sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced CNC professional with a strong applications or programming background, looking to step into a field-based role with excellent variety, autonomy, and progression potential.

You’ll be joining a well-established UK supplier of premium CNC machine tools—known for their focus on high-quality European and Japanese brands, exceptional customer support, and tailored technical solutions.

About the Role:

As an Applications Engineer, you’ll be responsible for supporting customers across the Midlands region with CNC programming, machine set-ups, and training. You’ll work closely with both new and existing customers to provide turnkey solutions, tooling advice, and process optimisation. Whether it's demonstrating a new 5-axis machining centre or helping integrate a horizontal borer into a production line, you’ll be a key technical contact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support pre- and post-sales activities with machine demonstrations and customer trials
• Develop CNC programs using Fanuc, Heidenhain or Siemens controls
• Deliver on-site training and technical support to end users
• Assist in machine installations and process improvements
• Liaise with sales and service teams to ensure smooth project delivery

What I’m Looking For:

• Solid experience in CNC machining and programming (preferably with multi-axis experience)
• Strong understanding of control systems: Fanuc, Heidenhain, or Siemens
• Confident communicator with a customer-first approach
• Ability to travel across the Midlands region
• Full UK driving licence
