A leading housing group in Coventry is looking for an Assistant Accountant to support financial management with responsibilities including asset register maintenance, reconciliation tasks, and support during month-end processes. Ideal candidates should be AAT qualified or equivalent, part qualified (ACCA/CIMA), and possess strong Excel skills. Qualifications

  • Proven experience of Microsoft Excel including setting up and using spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining an accurate fixed asset register.
  • Preparing and posting weekly inter-company development recharges.
  • Reconciliation of the project sub-ledger to the general ledger.
  • Preparation of accruals, prepayments, and journals.
  • Ownership and reconciliation of key balance sheet control accounts.
  • Support during month and year-end processes.
  • Provide accurate information for internal and external auditors.

Skills

AAT qualified or equivalent
Good IT literacy including Excel skills
Good organisational and time management skills
Ability to communicate clearly with customers
Attention to detail

Education

Part qualified (ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA/ICAEW/equivalent)
