The role in a nutshell

This role supports the Management Accounts function by ensuring accurate and timely revenue processing, forecasting, and financial reporting. It provides essential financial insight to the business through efficient month‑end activities, preparation of management information, customer reporting, and ongoing collaboration with operational and commercial teams. The position helps maintain strong financial controls, supports decision‑making, and contributes to continuous improvement across core finance processes.

Accurate and Timely Month‑End Reporting
  • Revenue journals, reallocations, and reconciliations completed accurately and on schedule
  • Management accounts delivered with clear variance analysis and meaningful commentary
Reliable Forecasting and Budgeting
  • Revenue forecasts and budgets updated consistently, reflecting business trends and inputs from stakeholders
  • Improved accuracy of projections that support strategic planning
High‑Quality Management Information (MI)
  • MI packs produced on time, with clear data, insights, and narrative supporting business reviews
  • Reporting maintained to a high standard of accuracy and consistency
Strong Customer Reporting Delivery
  • Tailored financial reports for key clients—delivered accurately, on time, and aligned with expectations
  • Enhanced client confidence through clear and reliable reporting
Strong Business Partnering
  • Finance are seen as a reliable partner, providing clear insight and responsive support

Requirements
  • A financial qualification, either fully qualified or part qualified, would be beneficial but not essential (AAT, CIMA, ACCA) but demonstrable prior experience of working within a finance team is a must
  • Analytical Thinking – You interpret complex financial data to uncover insights, explain variances, and support strategic decisions. You're comfortable working with large datasets and financial models
  • Commercial Awareness – You understand the broader business context and how financial performance links to operational activity. You use this knowledge to add value beyond the numbers
  • Communication & Influence – You present financial information clearly and persuasively to non-financial stakeholders. You build strong relationships and influence decisions through insight and collaboration
  • Systems Proficiency – You're skilled in using Excel, financial systems and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI). You leverage technology to streamline reporting and analysis
  • Attention to Detail – You ensure accuracy and consistency in all financial outputs, from reconciliations to reports. You take pride in delivering high‑quality work
  • Organisation & Time Management – You manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectively, especially during month‑end and budgeting cycles. You stay calm under pressure and deliver on time
