A leading healthcare trust in the UK is seeking a full-time Health Care Assistant to support the ophthalmology outpatient department. The role involves providing direct care, maintaining a safe environment, and assisting with clerical duties. Previous experience as an HCA, particularly in ophthalmology, is preferred. The role of the Health Care Assistant is to assist the qualified nurse to:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time (37.5hrs) HCA3 at Epsom and St Helier Ophthalmology Outpatients department.
Applicants must have previous HCA experience, preferably within ophthalmology and/or outpatients setting and have extended skills to include BP, BM, phlebotomy. You must be willing to further develop your skills and knowledge on a variety of ophthalmic related tasks and activities.
Applicants will be required to Monday to Friday 9‑5 and to be able to work across site as necessary.
The role demands willingness to expand clinical knowledge and skills and to work in a variety of clinics. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, and the ability to work under pressure. Applicants must be motivated, flexible, able to work as part of a team, and have excellent interpersonal skills. Applicants will need to be able to work flexibly around the needs of the service.

Both Epsom and St Helier hospitals have Accident and Emergency departments (A&E) and Maternity services (Obstetrics).
