  • Salary: £170,000 per year (increase to £175,000 from April 2026)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Neuropsychiatrist to provide senior medical cover on the Clipper Ward (10 bed male service for patients with brain injury and neuro‑degenerative conditions) and the Ketch Ward (6 bed male neuro‑psychiatric service focusing on optimisation and consolidation) at Cygnet Brunel. The post holder will act as the Responsible Clinician, oversee and maintain the care of all ward inpatients, audit medical services, and ensure high‑quality care in accordance with GMC standards and other professional guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on the provision of high quality care to service users admitted to the Clipper and Ketch Wards.
  • Act as a positive role‑model, maintaining a positive attitude toward patients, families, visitors and staff.
  • Take overall responsibility for patient treatment plans in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Assess referrals and undertake mental‑state examinations of service users.
  • Undertake appropriate investigations, diagnosis and treatment.
  • Conduct ward rounds
