Job summary
A large utilities company is seeking a Finance Director to manage financial operations and support the Managing Director in developing business strategies. The ideal candidate should have a relevant financial qualification, strong people management skills, and the ability to contribute to both day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives. This role is critical for financial oversight and strategic implementation.
Qualifications
- PQE, ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified.
- Previous experience with contract/job costing.
- Strong people management skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to contribute to day-to-day operations and strategic planning.
Responsibilities
- Provide financial information to senior managers.
- Allocate financial resources.
- Manage cash and working capital.
- Manage credit risk.
- Support the Managing Director in commercial strategy.

Utilities Background essential.
Reporting to the Group Financial Director Managing Director.
- To provide other financial information to senior managers within.
- To allocate financial resources.
- To manage cash and working capital.
- To manage credit risk.
- To provide financial expertise in the development of customer and supplier.
- The management of finance team.
- Membership of management team.
- To support the Managing Director in the development and implementation of commercial strategy and business plan.
- To produce accurate and timely management information and reporting schedules, contracts, and;
- To liaise with external auditors.
- Be PQE, ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified.
- Have previous experience of contract/job (small works) costing.
- Have commercial awareness.
- Have strong people management skills.
- Be an effective communicator with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Have the ability to contribute to day to day operations, as well as strategically.
