Job summary
A high-growth manufacturing business in East Cheshire is seeking a Finance Manager to lead financial strategy, manage reporting, and ensure compliance. The ideal candidate will be fully qualified in ACCA, CIMA, or ACA with strong analytical and leadership skills. Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, developing budgets, and supervising a small team. This role offers a hybrid work model after probation.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years in a similar finance role.
- Familiarity with financial reporting standards and compliance.
- Knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
- Develop budgets, monitor expenditures, and perform variance analysis.
- Conduct financial analysis and modelling to support business decisions.
- Manage accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, including tax filings and audits.
- Supervise and mentor Assistant Management Accountants.

Finance Manager - East Cheshire | Hybrid after probation. Axon Moore is partnering with a high-growth manufacturing business to recruit a Finance Manager for a privately owned company with ambitious growth plans and an international customer base.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and leading a small team of two assistants, the Finance Manager will drive financial strategy, manage reporting, support budgeting, and ensure compliance, while working closely with operational teams to inform commercial decisions.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports
- Develop budgets, monitor expenditures, and perform variance analysis
- Conduct financial analysis and modelling to support business decisions
- Manage accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems
- Ensure regulatory compliance, including tax filings and audits
- Supervise and mentor Assistant Management Accountants
- Monitor cash flow, accounts, and other financial transactions
- Recommend improvements to financial systems, processes, and policies
- Support year-end audit and liaise with auditors
- Analyse gross margins and support cost control initiatives
- Fully qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
- Knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and manufacturing operations
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally
- Attention to detail and integrity
- 2-5 years in a similar finance role
- Familiarity with financial reporting standards and compliance
- Experience with Power Query/Power BI or equivalent
