Lab Technician (Chemistry) – RSSL Reading - £14.74 PH – 6 months temp to perm.
Working within a Food Research & Development lab under the guidance of senior team members, you will work independently and collaboratively to support the operation and goals of the laboratory. Responsibilities include efficiently administering samples for scientific analysis by creating records, assigning analytical tests, allocating samples for analysis, maintaining chain-of-custody for controlled samples, inputting results, and liaising with clients. The role requires organizational skills to meet tight deadlines and providing high-quality customer service by ensuring effective workload organization, data integrity, and timely, accurate results. You will perform basic routine pharmacopeial analysis using aseptic technique under supervision, operate basic lab equipment as directed, conduct experiments, complete projects, and offer functional services under supervision.
Candidates should have a degree in Chemistry, be recent graduates or have completed a technical apprenticeship, and be competent in using software packages required for the role including Lab LIMS and Q-Pulse. A scientific background through education or apprenticeship, good organizational skills, proficiency in English (verbal and written), accountability, honesty, and adaptability are essential.
