An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of the Patient Transfer Team at DRI. The role requires a dynamic and proactive individual who can work to support the effective flow of patients through the organisation.

We will teach you everything you need to know and all we ask is that you are a caring and kind person with a genuine desire to help and support our patients by providing exceptional care. Our Care Support Workers provide some of the most personal and fundamental support to our patients so if you feel the above is you then we want to hear from you.

The post holder will provide assistance to qualified staff by the effective, prompt and competent undertaking of delegated duties. To work as part of a team, as directed by the team leader.

The candidate must have excellent coordination and communication skills to ensure the timely transfer of patients across the organisation. You will be expected to work transferring patients to all areas to meet demand ensuring that patient safety and quality care support the patient's journey. This also includes providing basic personal care.

It's really important to consider that some aspects of healthcare work can be distressing and unpleasant. You will be expected to help patients with personal care without being embarrassed or feeling awkward. You will need to be able to communicate sympathetically with patients, and distressed relatives, and care for patients who are very sick.

We are recruiting for full time & part time (minimum of 15 hours) positions, covering a variety of shift patterns, including a 24 hour, 7 day a week shift pattern (rotational shifts, with enhanced pay for weekends and nights).

Post may involve working long days/nights, weekends, bank holidays, Easter and Christmas.

You will be required to complete the Care Certificate qualification as part of your on-going training. The Care Certificate is an agreed set of standards that define the knowledge, skills and behaviours expected of specific job roles in the health and social care sectors. The qualification is made up of the 15 minimum standards that should be covered if you are 'new to care' and will form part of a robust induction programme

• Knowledge of personal care and related procedures
• Basic Maths and literacy
• Vocational qualification at level 2 or equivalent relevant experience.
• GCSE Grade C in Maths and English or educated to the equivalent.

• Experience working with people using customer care skills.
• Knowledge and understanding of current healthcare issues.
• Experience of working in a healthcare setting and/or providing personal care.
• Basic Computer Skills

• Be able to demonstrate good communication skills, work within the multidisciplinary team.
• Well-motivated, genuine desire to care for people.
• Must be able to work within a team. Support and assist in the safe and effective delivery of personal care.
• Good standard of written skills
• Demonstrate enthusiasm, motivation, accept and support changes within the role/service.
• Ability to record and report relevant information regarding patient needs.
