Part Time Bookkeeper

12.50- 16.00ph, Thirsk, uniform can be provided, small friendly team, free on site parking, part time flexible hours but ideally 12:30-17:00.

Due to business demands we are looking for a part time bookkeeper to join this small friendly team based in Thirsk. You will be responsible for looking after the day to day transactional accounts processes. This is initially a temporary position with a view to go permanent for the right candidate.

Due to a recent staff restructure and levels of business there is a small backlog of invoices that require inputting onto the system. This is an administrative role that is very process driven. You will need to have good attention to detail and be able to input data accurately in a timely manner.

We are interviewing for this role immediately with a view for someone to start by 20th October at the latest.

Part Time Bookkeeper responsibilities will include:

• Inputting purchase invoices daily
• Manually inputting online orders onto the system
• Matching orders with invoices
• Processing supplier cash and card payments
• Matching invoices against purchase orders and checking for any discrepancies
• Managing creditor statements
• Chasing overdue supplier payments
• Various other accounts administrative duties

Requirements for this role:

• Have a good level of English and maths, GCSE, equivalent or above
• Good IT skills and competent with Microsoft Office, Excel and Sage
• Previous bookkeeping or accounts administration experience
• A good head for numbers and excellent attention to detail
• Working knowledge of Sage and accounts data entry

This part time bookkeeping position is ideally to work every afternoon. We would suggest the hours between 12:30-17:00 but can be flexible for the right person, however as this is a very transactional role, you would be required to work Monday to Friday. This is a small friendly team and you will be joining them on a temporary basis with a view to go permanent.

This bookkeeping role would suit someone who is either currently in a bookkeeping role, accounts administrator or accounts assistant, Purchase ledger clerk, or someone who is keen to pursue a career in accounts and bookkeeping. Training can be provided and there is scope for this role to progress and grow into a bigger position as the business grows.We are mainly looking for someone who has an interest in transactional accounts. The office is commutable from Thirsk, Northallerton, Dishforth, Helmsley, Easingwold, Boroughbridge, Bedale.
