Are you an experienced Accounts Assistant looking for your next challenge? If so look no further.

My clients are a highly resected and successful company based in Blackpool and are on the lookout for an Accounts Assistant.

The purpose of the role will be to support the Finance team in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with reporting and administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the finance function.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Process purchase orders and sales invoices accurately and in a timely manner
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and positing of bank transactions
  • Maintain and update financial records and ledgers
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Assist with VAT returns and other statutory filings
  • Prepare payment runs and manage petty cash
  • Respond to internal and external finance queries
  • Provide administrative support to the finance team as required

Essential requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar finance or accounts role
  • Good understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (eg Sage)
  • Strong attention to details and accuracy
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

  • AAT qualification or working towards one
  • Experience with month end and management accounts
  • Basic knowledge of VAT returns, Plastic Tax or EPR submissions
  • Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance
