This is a full time permanent hybrid role (4 days in the office) on Crick terms and conditions of employment (Please note due to the nature of the role you will need to be hands on including working occasional weekends and evenings)

As our Events & Conference Manager youll be at the heart of it all. welcoming a huge range of people to one of the UKs most influential research institutes. From world‑leading scientists and government ministers to commercial partners funders and even royalty you will host and deliver a packed programme of events that reflect the prestige and ambition of our work.
Were looking for someone with exceptional interpersonal and management skills a sharp eye for detail and the ability to make even the most complex event look effortless. Youll bring poise precision and professionalism to every occasion whether its a scientific symposium a VIP lecture or an all staff celebration. Ultimately youll know how to pull a room together with confidence and finesse.
Each year youll shape and oversee more than 150 events plus a steady stream of high‑profile visits that demand bespoke hospitality and seamless execution. Youll also lead our regular tour programme giving guests a glimpse into the ground breaking science happening behind the scenes.
As an experienced manager youll lead a team of four and report directly to the Deputy Director of Communications. Youll be part of the Communications and Public Engagement team but your work will span the entire institute collaborating closely with senior scientists Crick leadership facilities service partners and the executive support team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to become a trusted ambassador for one of the worlds leading biomedical research institutes helping to bring together scientists stakeholders and visitors to spark meaningful conversations about science. Youll be integral to creating moments of connection and inspiration shaping events that celebrate discovery share knowledge and showcase the Cricks impact on the future of science.
