Job summary
A well-established UK charity is seeking an Interim Senior Finance Project Manager to lead a crucial finance transformation project. The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified accountant experienced in process mapping and financial data analysis. The role is part-time, requiring four days a week, with one day in the office. Responsibilities include delivering financial analysis, preparing summaries for senior leadership, and supporting budgeting processes. This interim role offers a competitive opportunity for a seasoned finance professional.
Qualifications
- Must be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong Excel and financial data analysis skills are essential.
- Expertise in process mapping and documentation is required.
- Ability to work comfortably in small teams with outsourced finance functions.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end process mapping across invoicing, payments, and income streams.
- Deliver data and Excel-based financial analysis, including monthly management accounts.
- Prepare concise financial summaries for ELT and Board/Committees.
- Support budgeting and recharge reviews, improving templates and processes.
- Provide hands-on finance administration and project support to senior leaders.

Are you a seasoned finance professional who thrives on making a tangible difference? This is a rare opportunity to lead a critical finance transformation project for a well-established UK charity. My client needs an experienced Interim Senior Finance Project Manager who can bring clarity, structure and insight to complex financial processes while working closely with senior stakeholders.
This is a 6 9 month interim role, outside IR35, working 4 days per week (5 during peak periods), with one day a week in the office.
- Lead end-to-end process mapping (primarily to-be ) across invoicing, payments and income streams
- Deliver data and Excel-based financial analysis, including monthly management accounts
- Prepare concise financial summaries for ELT and Board/Committees
- Support budgeting and recharge reviews, improving templates and processes
- Provide hands-on finance administration and project support to senior leaders
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong Excel and financial data analysis skills
- Process mapping and documentation expertise
- Comfortable working in small teams with outsourced finance functions
- Charity or not-for-profit experience
- Knowledge of grant funding and VAT
- Experience supporting finance transformation projects
