Job summary

An environmental research organization is seeking Field Surveyors across England and Wales for a new project starting July 2023. The role involves conducting surveys, data entry, and community liaison on a freelance basis. Successful candidates will have flexibility in working hours (4 hours per working day) and receive £100-120 per day, equivalent to ~£21,000 pro rata. Interested individuals must apply by June 5th.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in scientific or social science surveying desirable.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with other members of the research team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct face‑to‑face, site‑based surveys randomly allocated throughout a designated region.
  • Enter survey data via the online survey app managed by Substance.
  • Liaise with local angling community, project coordinator and volunteer teams.
  • Attend training sessions.
  • Report activities to a central system.
