A leading postal service provider in Bury St Edmunds is looking for a multi-skilled engineer to perform maintenance tasks on automation equipment. The role requires working a 40-hour week with varying shifts, including nights and weekends. The ideal candidate will have experience in electrical and mechanical engineering and a full UK driving licence. The position offers a competitive salary with additional allowances.
The successful candidate will be required to follow the Bristol Mail Centre's shift rotation system, as outlined below with some degree of voluntary flexibility to meet our 24/7 operational needs on occasion, including voluntary overtime coverage and occasional shift pattern flexibility. The role will cover early, late and night shifts. Royal Mail is engaged in one of the biggest technological changes in its history, transitioning to a predominantly mechanised parcel sortation process. It's a very exciting time to join us! To facilitate this change, a huge organisation wide investment in new parcel processing technology is in progress, with the necessary associated investment in engineering. The Role Shift attendance equates to 40 hours per week (excluding meal breaks) - working 12 hour shifts (7am - 7pm & 7pm - 7am). Weekend working will be required as part of the rota. Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of automation assets through completion of effective maintenance procedures.

In this role your potential earning will be over £56,000 per annum. Salary: £53,195 per annum, plus night shift allowance, 22.5 days annual leave with bank holidays and a defined contribution pension scheme. A weekend supplement for Saturday (£53.14 per attendance) and Sunday (£106.28 per attendance) shift attendance is applicable.
