Due to continued growth, we are now seeking a Solutions Architect (SAP Specialist) to join our IT Department at our Rugby site. This role could be based from a number of our Midlands sites including Rugby, Corby, Banbury, or Warrington, depending on your home location.
As Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for collaborating with third-party vendors to ensure the design, development, and implementation of robust solutions, primarily in SAP, align with the organisation's strategic goals and requirements.

Job responsibilities of Solutions Architect (SAP Specialist) include:
- Translate business strategy into solutions architecture, defining & developing IT solution/application strategies to enable Culina Group goals.
- Lead solutions design, develop, and implement architectural principles, standards, policies, and governance (Enterprise Architecture Design).
- Coordinate solutions delivery, provide advisory services, and ensure project alignment with enterprise-wide initiatives (Technical Solution Design).
- Analyze and evaluate technology, driving continuous improvements (Architecture Authority).
- Understand business drivers and capabilities, designing enterprise systems and change requirements to meet business outcomes.
- Stay informed on emerging technology trends and their practical applications to support evolving business models.
- Translate business and technical requirements into architectural blueprints and document all work.
- Assess industry, market, and competitor trends for their impact on the enterprise.
- Provide deliverables such as reference models and architecture designs to assist the architecture review process.
- Act as a technology consultant to drive targeted business outcomes across platforms and vendors.
- Lead evaluation, design, and analysis for solutions architecture across specific business applications or technologies.
- Create architectural designs guiding solution development across products, services, and systems.
- Develop reference architectures focusing on design principles, APIs, systems, and dependencies.
- Analyze the business-IT environment for deficiencies and recommend improvements.
- Design and oversee governance activities to ensure solutions architecture compliance.
- Define principles, standards, and solution patterns aligned with future-state architecture.
- Facilitate evaluation and selection of software standards and configurations.
- Support product lifecycle decisions, including end-of-life strategies.
- Develop a roadmap for enterprise application evolution.
- Monitor current solutions to identify deficiencies and misalignments.
- Assess organizational and financial impacts of architecture decisions.
- Collaborate with product teams to ensure a robust architectural runway supporting future requirements.
- Provide consulting support to agile teams and architects to align with enterprise architecture governance.
- Support projects and products in fitting systems and infrastructure to architecture standards.
- Guide and support a community of practice for architecture governance and assurance.
Qualifications
To apply, you should have:
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, systems analysis, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least five years of design and implementation experience in IT, with expertise in at least two disciplines such as application development, APIs, middleware, databases, or cloud technologies.
- Good knowledge of IT Architecture frameworks like TOGAF, including principles and standards development.
- Understanding of product management, agile principles, and supporting agile teams with technical guidance.
- Awareness of emerging technologies and their application to business models.
- Experience developing architecture blueprints, strategies, and roadmaps.
- Proven ability to deliver presentations to senior executives and technical audiences.
