The Role

As a Criminal Justice Recovery Worker, you will support people involved in the Criminal Justice System who are facing complex and additional needs and want to access treatment and support.

Working with a range of agencies within criminal justice settings, including the courts, you will signpost and refer people to appropriate support agencies and safeguard their reintegration into the community.

Responsibilities
  • Undertaking assessments for people who are subject to a Conditional Caution, Community Resolutions or Drug Test on Arrest requirements providing structured harm reduction interventions and making onward referrals.
  • Supporting people in recovery through relapse prevention and care planning.
  • Building effective working partnerships with other agencies.
  • Supporting those being released from custody to engage with community services.
About You

To join us as a Criminal Justice Recovery Worker, you will need:

  • Relevant experience of working in the field of problematic substance use, mental health or another comparable field.
  • Evidence of effective partnership working and the ability to network for the benefit of the client and service.
  • Evidence of managing a caseload and excellent organisational skills.
  • To be proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook and Word and be familiar with relevant database management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience of creating person-centred care plans and/or timetables based on identified needs would be advantageous, as would experience of partnership working, liaising with community and criminal justice services and developing reintegration and resettlement plans.
