Our Health in Justice service line is now expanding into non‑Custodial healthcare, a person‑centred approach delivered via a solid and consolidated infrastructure aimed to assess individuals mental health and neurodiversity requirements, to redirect them to the most appropriate channel.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Reconnect Practitioner to join our team in North Yorkshire.

Location & Hours

Location – Scarborough Police Station.

Hours – 37.5 hours per week over a 7 day period.

Salary

Salary – £43,609 to £49,175 depending on experience.

Candidate Requirements

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK due to the nature of the role; offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Responsibilities
  • Be part of an extended team working across Liaison & Diversion service.
  • Work autonomously in police detention cells to identify and respond to requests for screening and assessment of people with identified health needs leaving the prison establishment within 12 weeks or less.
  • Use validated tools to assess for a number of identified health needs and utilise information accordingly to inform decision‑making and facilitate diversion within and out of the criminal justice pathway, creating a clear individualised care plan.
  • Work autonomously in prison, community and police detention cells.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Qualified Registered Mental Nurse, Mental Health Social Worker or Occupational Therapist with current registration with the relevant professional body.
  • Knowledge and experience in the female health and social care pathway.
  • Substantial evidence of continuing professional development and post‑registration training.
  • Experience of psychosocial interventions and awareness of substance misuse.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to gain appropriate level of consent.
  • Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, EBP and national standards.
  • Knowledge of evidence based practice, health promotion, NICE guidelines and pharmacology.
