Job summary
A growing recruitment firm is seeking a Field Service Engineer – Mobile Fleet Technician based in Walsall. The role involves traveling to customer sites for maintenance and repairs, with responsibilities including callouts, emergency breakdowns, and servicing. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated HGV Vehicle Engineers with a good knowledge of various types of vehicles including HGVs. Flexible working hours and benefits include 25 annual leave days and healthcare scheme eligibility.

Responsibilities
- Conduct callouts and preventative maintenance.
- Handle emergency breakdowns and pre-arranged servicing at rural sites.
- Perform MOT preparation and diagnostic investigations.

Field Service Engineer – Mobile Fleet Technician
Day shifts – 07.00‑16.30, 45 hour week – Flexible working hours

If you have experience working on a mobile basis, perhaps in agricultural or material handling equipment, we would like to speak with you.
- Callouts
- Preventative Maintenance
- Emergency Breakdowns
- Pre‑arranged servicing at rural sites
- MOT Preparation
- Engine work and diagnostic investigations
- Correction of running defects
- Chassis and fabrication work
- Hydraulics and pneumatics
- Improvement of vehicle standards
- Electrical and wiring inspections and corrections
- Self‑motivated and independent HGV Vehicle Engineer
- Experience travelling to client workshops within a designated area
- Excellent understanding of vehicle technology; able to follow the repair process from fault analysis to completion
- Class 2 licence is beneficial
- Good knowledge of HGVs, gritters, refuse collection vehicles, sweepers, flatbeds and cherry pickers
- Ability to work on electric and hydrogen vehicles and keep up to date with new products and repair techniques
- Reliable and punctual

- Abiding by health and safety rules
- Problem solver with a can‑do mindset
- 25 days annual holiday (plus bank holidays) per annum
