Job summary
A leading logistics company is seeking a Transport Operator in Derby, United Kingdom, with a salary of £24,589.50. Duties include managing drivers and delivery operations while ensuring effective communication and organization. Ideal candidates should have experience in transport, IT literacy, and strong communication skills. This position offers rotating shifts Monday to Friday and is a temp to perm opportunity with an ASAP start.
Qualifications
- Experience in a transport role is required.
- Strong IT skills necessary for record keeping.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
Responsibilities
- Brief and de-brief drivers on their daily runs.
- Liaise with drivers and customers regarding collection and delivery.
- Record collection/delivery status and address discrepancies.
Skills
Manpower are recruiting a Transport Operator for our client in DE74 on a temp to perm basis!
- Pre brief and de-brief drivers on their daily runs.
- Liaise with drivers, regional partners and customers while vehicles are on the road over collection and delivery issues.
- Record collection/delivery status and discrepancies in dotnet and elevate where appropriate.
- Move freight between runs to ensure failed collections are minimised.
- Recovering increased costs and lost revenue through correct administration.
- Administrate all transport runs to the correct standard, eliminating disruption and additional workflows for other teams.
- Prior experience in a Transport environment
- IT literate
- Able to work well under pressure and think on your feet
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Highly organised
£24,589.50 salary
- Rotating shifts (all Monday to Friday)
- 07:00 - 15:30
- 09:00 - 17:30
- 11:00 - 19:30
