A leading health provider in Cardiff is looking for a Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Emergency Medicine. The role involves providing specialist care, supervising junior staff, and engaging in research activities. We are delighted to offer an opportunity to join our team of paediatric emergency physicians at Cardiff’s University Hospital of Wales (UHW). This post is aimed at middle grade doctors in Emergency Medicine or paediatrics with an interest in Paediatric Emergency Medicine.
The post will commence on 5 August 2026 for a 12‑month appointment.
Appointments will have up to 30% of working time devoted to research, teaching or other activities linked with the EMAC at Cardiff University, with an office based in the university. The remaining 70% of time is allocated to clinical duties in Paediatric Emergency Medicine, including participation in the out‑of‑hours rota which provides a banding supplement of 1A (50%).
Provide comprehensive specialist care in the designated hospitals, with responsibility for prevention, diagnosis and treatment of acute emergencies.
Maintain patient care during your charge and support the effective functioning of the department in line with departmental policy.
Supervise and manage junior medical staff professionally.
Carry out administrative duties related to patient care and departmental administration.
Engage with and advance research programmes within the department.
