The Life Cycle segment within Aker Solutions specializes in managing, executing, and delivering small, medium, and large complex projects from feasibility studies, frame agreements, and EPCI.
Life Cycle UK is supporting a 3-year Frame Agreement primarily for Maintenance and Modification at Equinor’s offshore platforms including Heidrun, Njord A and B, Asgard A and B, Troll A, B and C, Heimdal, and Johan Sverdrup in the North Sea Norwegian sector, as well as the onshore facility at Tjeldbergodden (Norway). We are looking for engineering and design discipline Project personnel to join us.
We are looking for a Senior Instrument Engineer to join our team based in Aberdeen (AIBP).
What will you be doing?
- Assist the Lead Engineer in compiling weekly reports, planning, coordinating, and executing work activities to meet project requirements while performing all technical duties competently and efficiently.
- Carry out professional liaising with engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and completion activities, ensuring the technical and safety integrity of engineering work.
- Ensure project deliverables are generated using Aker Solutions systems and tools.
- Liaise with client project and facilities engineering to deliver work on schedule and within budget, following company procedures.
- Administer and implement Management of Change effectively.
- Act as deputy for the Principal/Lead Engineer during holidays or sickness.
- Participate actively in HAZOP, design reviews, and other safety reviews.
- Coordinate and manage instrument, F&G, and Telecommunications system packaged equipment.
- Prepare engineering concepts.
We think you should have:
- HNC/HND or university degree in Instrument Engineering or relevant education with significant experience in front-end studies, FEED, and/or EPCI projects in the energy sector.
- Broad competency in instrument work processes.
- Experience participating in HAZOP/HAZID reviews.
- Solution-oriented with good communication and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of relevant Norwegian regulations and standards (preferred but not essential).
- Strong work ethics and proactive attitude.
- Commercial mindset, good communication skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to meet customer expectations and requirements with solutions.
- Accurate, flexible, organized, and willing to work in a hybrid structure with regular visits to Norway.
