Job summary
A logistics and transportation company based in Sheffield seeks a reliable driver for a customer-facing trunking role. Responsibilities include transporting goods between depots, conducting vehicle checks, and ensuring proper documentation at delivery points. The ideal candidate will have experience in driving and be self-reliant in a dynamic environment. This position promotes a strong client relationship and requires adaptability to changing responsibilities daily.

Responsibilities
- Transport goods between depots and hubs.
- Perform routine vehicle checks and report issues.
- Ensure proof of delivery is obtained.
This role is largely trunking between depots and hubs, involving a mix of trailer swapping and deliveries.
You will be required to come in and perform your routine vehicle checks and note down any issues and report them immediately. You'll then take a look over the route for the day and make any notes required for features like toll roads or low bridges. You'll be given a contact number for each stop so that there should be no issues upon arrival at each site.
Upon returning to site, you'll need to report any issues during your run and point out anything else relating to the run. You'll have a sheet that will need signing at each delivery by a member of the site team at each location. You'll need to ensure that get signed to show proof of delivery, and then hand it back into the office at the end of the shift.
This role is with a client that we have had a strong relationship with for many years and we want this to continue. We are looking to register drivers who are comfortable in a self-reliant, customer facing role with a mix of responsibilities that can change day-to-day.
