RESPONSIBILITIES

The Automation Engineer acts across all areas of the factory site, supporting new installations as well as breakdowns, interventions and enhancements to existing equipment. The role will both lead as well as participate in multi-disciplinary teams.

They will be the custodian of all automation elements of existing production equipment and building automation and software changes including strategy, surveys, problem solving, feasibility studies, continuous improvement and data / documentation management.

Relevant projects will include technical specification, FAT, training, budgeting and contractor management through to project handover and will use project management tools and documents such as URS, Gantt Charts, and RACI.

Your main focus:

• Provide both advisory and practical technical assistance to Coty Engineers in the specialist area of automation engineering including surveys, fault finding, problem solving, feasibility studies and continuous improvement
• Support operation and maintenance of related equipment
• Use technical skills and business acumen, participate in defining the scope, benefits, objectives, design, cost estimate, schedule and business case for automation related projects. Deliver the projects to completion
• Provide input into the automation agenda for the overall site in line with global requirements. Assist in establishing local best practices through relevant engineering standards, specifications, procedures and practices

The team consists of Project Managers and Engineers and you will work closely together with several departments such as facilities, manufacturing, production, Health & Safety and Quality. All your colleagues are technical experts in their respective disciplines.

YOU ARE A COTY FIT

As an experienced Automation Engineer you are tenacious, methodical, team orientated, business focused and you get energy from working in a fast-paced, diverse and international environment. Other than that, you:

• Must be qualified to degree level in a control engineering discipline or equivalent in experience
• Must have industrial experience including both project and support works in an automation capacity
• Must have excellent PC skills which should include CAD (highly desirable)
• Must be methodical, reliable, pragmatic, action oriented and value experience whilst simultaneously embracing change
