Automation Engineer to join Brighter Foods X THG Manufacturing. This role will be responsible for our new automated factory and will design, programme and test the automated machinery to complete exact tasks. You will be able to interrogate PLCs to fault find and work on and improve line logic within the process. This role also requires developing others within the team to meet the business needs of a 24/7 production site. There will be a level of out of hours support. A strong electrical background is required to assist in day-to-day electrical breakdowns and faults.

Shift: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM)

Location: Tywyn, Wales

Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 (depending on experience)

Reporting to: Engineering Manager

About the Role: We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join our team at Brighter Foods X THG Manufacturing. This role will be responsible for our new automated factory and will design, programme and test the automated machinery to be able to complete exact tasks.

• Perform regular maintenance on automated machinery.
• Perform repairs and troubleshooting exercises.
• Work on custom automated solutions.
• Implement improvements with evident results, efficiencies and savings.
• Programme and configure new equipment into existing systems.
• Provide technical direction and training to support the rest of the team.
• Ensure safety within the environment.
• PLC and electrical fault finding.
• Work with OEMs to improve current programs.

• Experience in working within an FMCG business, with automated machinery.
• Degree in Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
• Proficiency in PLC programming, SQL, Python, and Java.
• Project management experience preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
