As a Tooling Engineer on our User Safety team, you'll design and build internal systems to protect our users, support data collection, and ensure compliance with global regulations. You'll join a small, fast-paced team where you'll have the freedom to be creative and develop innovative safety tools that make a real impact.

At amo, we're building social apps that bring friends together, and ensuring user safety is a critical part of our mission. You'll work directly with our User Safety lead to create the infrastructure that keeps our community safe.

• Design and build highly-scalable, efficient, and robust trust and safety platforms and tools, including data tracking pipelines

• Develop systems to enhance data collection, compliance, and safety processes

• Create APIs and integrations with third-party services

• Create intelligent workflows including automating complex decision‑making processes

• Understand product objectives to develop user-friendly platforms that align with operational needs

• Ensure safety services have zero downtime and can scale as our user base grows

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical discipline

• At least 5 years of software engineering experience

• Proficiency in designing data structures, building algorithms, and at least one programming language (Rust, C, or C++)

• Willingness to learn Rust if no prior knowledge.

• Great communication and teamwork skills

• Passion for user safety, human moderation, AI moderation, and operational efficiency

• Experience with Rust programming language

• Background in trust and safety tooling or content moderation systems

• Experience with web development and frontend technologies

• Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to online safety (DSA, etc.)

• Experience working with machine learning models and data pipelines
