Senior Legal Counsel
Role and responsibilities:
- Be a trusted senior legal advisor for the Europe South Hub (France, Italy, Greece), aligning with business leaders and coordinating with other legal counsels on a wide range of legal, compliance, and governance matters including sales, distribution, retail, marketing, competition, procurement, operations, employment, and corporate.
- Contribute to strategic discussions, projects, and activities with business leaders in the Hub, supporting strategic objectives in coordination with other legal counsels.
- Monitor and communicate policies, laws, and regulations to ensure sustainable business. Manage litigations, investigations, provide trainings, and coordinate with outside counsels. Draft and review agreements and legal documentation.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies such as Business Conduct Manual and Anti-Bribery policies. Handle non-compliance issues, provide training, and coaching on these topics.
- Collaborate with other legal team members in EMEA, liaise with the EMEA Legal Leadership Team, and act as a mentor and point of contact for legal team members. Lead or co-lead functional activities like practice groups or expertise centers.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Civil Law from an EMEA university. Admitted to practice law in an EMEA jurisdiction.
- 10+ years post-qualification experience as an attorney and legal counsel, including law firm experience. Knowledge of company, commercial, litigation, regulatory, financial, data privacy, and labor law.
- Experience within a business environment, ideally in a management or executive team. Interest or experience in the tire or automotive industry is a plus. International exposure and experience in matrix organizations and dual reporting structures.
