The Role – What We Are Looking For
Currie & Brown seeks experienced construction Project Managers with Data Centre expertise to join our Paris team. The role involves overseeing construction and capital expenditure works for the Paris Data Centres, based in Clichy.
Your Core Duties Will Include:
- Implementing and standardizing high standards of cost, quality, and program control throughout the design and build phases of multiple projects.
- Leading contract negotiations to determine design and construction schedules and costs, ensuring high-quality service procurement.
- Negotiating with key suppliers to procure major plant and equipment prior to contractor appointment, ensuring timely orders for long-lead items.
- Leading M&E design delivery and collaborating with M&E consultants to achieve cost-effective and resilient infrastructure.
- Conducting regular project review meetings with M&E consultants and contractors.
- Developing project management systems, procedures, and processes for successful project completion.
- Monitoring design and construction schedules, costs, and project information systems to ensure success.
- Preparing monthly reports for senior management on project status, financials, and cash flow.
- Ensuring compliance with local permits, regulations, and authority requirements.
- Communicating project plans and information effectively to all relevant client staff.
- Resolving issues promptly and developing contingency plans as needed.
- Ensuring proper handover of completed works to client operations.
- Fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Implementing modern project management and quality assurance techniques.
- Collaborating closely with development, technical, regional, and site teams on project progress.
- Liaising with M&E consultants and power authorities to ensure correct design and implementation of electrical supply.
- Focusing on contractor management, stakeholder relationships, and facilities management service delivery.
Skills and Attributes Required:
- Relevant tertiary degree in construction or related field.
- Technical delivery experience in construction, ideally with extensive Data Centre projects.
- Strong technical writing, client-facing, and communication skills in French and English.
- Experience managing large capital expenditure projects with high M&E dependency.
- Experience working in mission-critical environments.
- Well-organized, diligent, proactive, assertive, disciplined, and commercially aware.
- Team player with a positive attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful, and flexible.
- Risk management or CDM qualifications/experience.
