The Curie Institute Research Center

The “Institut Curie” is a major player in the research and fight against cancer. It consists of a hospital and a Research Center. Institut Curie is a major player in cancer research and the fight against cancer. It consists of a hospital and a research center with more than 1000 employees with a strong international representation. The objective of the Institut Curie Research Center is to develop fundamental research and use the knowledge generated to improve the diagnosis, prognosis and therapeutics of cancers within the continuum between fundamental research and innovation for the benefit of patients.

Mission

Job description

Laboratory

The "Repair, Radiation and Innovative Anti-Cancer Therapies" team (U1021 / UMR3347 / Université Paris-Saclay) investigates the changes at the cellular and molecular level induced by radiotherapy in the lung (Curras-Alonso et al. Nature Communications 2023). Using cutting-edge single cell technologies (scRNAseq, spatial transcriptomic), current projects aim at identifying key mechanisms underlying effects of radiotherapy on healthy tissue and tumor. To achieve these goals, the team is looking for a computational biologist to lead the bioinformatic analysis and integration of the different sets of data (scRNAseq, spatial transcriptomic, lipidomic). This position will benefit from the expertise of the lab as well as close interactions with radiation biologists of the team and external collaborations.

Missions

  • Data processing and Pipeline development: Design, implement, and maintain robust pipelines for processing scRNA-seq and spatial analysis including data quality control, normalization and batch effect correction.
  • Single cell and Spatial transcriptomic analysis: Perform clustering, cell-type annotation, trajectory inference, cell-cell communication.
  • Data integration: Apply statistical and machine learning approaches to integrate single cell and spatial analysis in order to identify molecular signatures and pathways underlying radiation-induced effects.
  • Collaboration: Work in close interaction with radiation biologists and collaborate with international partners through interdisciplinary projects.
  • Scientific communication: Present results in lab meetings, seminars, and international conferences as well as contribute to manuscripts, grant applications.
