Senior Technology Manager - Energy Systems (m / f / n)
Location: Bonn, Aachen / flexible across Germany
Primary functions:
- Development and execution of advanced technology projects leveraging German and European government funding with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with a team of scientists and engineers specializing in various technology areas in the Energy Systems Technologies Department of Eaton's Corporate Research Organization. Provide strategic guidance and coaching.
- Encourage technology realization programs utilizing internal project execution processes.
- Facilitate communication and cooperation between Eaton locations regionally and globally.
- Foster an environment for creativity while promoting the generation of value-added intellectual property.
Additional responsibilities:
- Develop research proposals and secure government funding to advance research in Energy Systems relevant to Eaton, while maintaining relationships with the external technical community.
- Support technology roadmaps and strategies for the European region and develop relationships with Eaton stakeholders (engineering, product lines, government programs).
- Provide guidance, coaching, and development for the technical staff.
- This role reports to the Global Technology Manager.
Qualifications:
- PhD or MSc degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Industrial experience in power and energy systems.
- R&D experience in distributed energy resource (DER) integration and management, microgrids, power distribution systems modeling, analysis, monitoring and control, protection, EV charging infrastructure, and grid integration.
- Experience managing EU and German government funded projects in power and energy systems research and product development.
- Experience managing lab/infrastructure including hardware-in-the-loop testing facilities.
- Program management experience in new product development and innovation processes.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and German (oral and written).
